Octopus That Uses a Coconut & Coconut Shrimp Recipe

Watch this video to see how this Octopus uses a coconut to create a defensive shell for its self.

Octopus are very smart invertebrates that have eight arms that glide them threw the deep sea and are known to change colors or mimic other creatures in attempt to fool it’s predators.

Now if this was a shrimp it would remind me of a good coconut shrimp recipe and all you need is the following.

one egg
three quarters of a cup of all purpose flour
two thirds cup beer
one and a half teaspoons of baking powder
two cups of coconut
around 25 shrimp
four cups of oil to fry the shrimp in

Here is what you do to make this coconut shrimp recipe

Take a bowl and combine a half cup of flour, egg, baking powder and beer. Use the last of the flour to combine it with the coconut in a different bowl. Grab the shrimp by it’s tail and work the flour into it, but be sure to remove any gobs of it. The next step is to dip it into the egg and beer batter mix. Step three is to take the shrimp and shake it in the coconut. Your next step is going to be to put the shrimp on a baking sheet that is lined with wax paper and let it chill for about forty five minutes. Now that your shrimp has chilled heat your oil up to about three forty and fry your shrimp at about eight at a time for 3 to 5 minutes or until they are a golden. Take them out of the oil and enjoy them with what ever sauce you like, but we suggest trying marinara.

What do you think of this video and did you try the shrimp recipe, if so how was it?

Hi Coby,

I loved the video of the octopus. That was amazing. I’ve never seen an octopus use it’s tenacles to walk on. Really cool. I have not tried the recipe.
