Florida Shark Fishing Rules

FWC (Florida Wildlife Commission) rolled out some new rules on shark fishing.

These fishing regulations apply to the following shark species.

Tiger Shark, Great Hammerhead, Scalloped Hammerhead, and Smooth Hammerhead sharks. These sharks are now catch and release only because of anglers, commercial fishermen and shark research showing a strong concern to protect these types of sharks. Some shark can still be harvested in federal waters and you are able to bring in sharks that you have caught in federal waters to Florida State land, but you can not stop your boat until you have reached Florida land.

These shark fishing regulations where decided on November 16, 2011 and are effective on January 1, 2012.

What do you think of these new Shark Fishing regulations?
